Stock Market Overview

The Hong Kong Stock Exchange is the sixth largest exchange in the world in terms of market capitalisation. The major index in the Hong Kong exchange is called the Hang Seng Index (HSI), this index tracks the 50 largest stocks in the market. Shanghai-Hong Kong and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect is a cross-boundary investment channel that connects the Shanghai, Shenzhen and the Hong Kong Stock Exchanges.

Some of the most well-known listed stocks on the Hong Kong exchange are AIA Group (1299), Tencent Holdings (0700), Alibaba (9988), BYD Company (1211) and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (1398).
