Stock Market Overview

The Toronto Stock exchange (TSX) is Canada’s leading equities market. The main TSX index is the S&P/TSX composite, which tracks the tops 250 stocks on the market. The TSX also encompasses the Toronto Venture Exchange (TSVX), which is predominately made up of emerging companies seeking venture capital. Due to Canada’s rich resources a lot of the largest stocks are mineral companies such as Barrick Gold (ABX) and Cameco Corp (CCo). Other well-known stocks listed on TSX are Canadian National Resources (CNQ), Royal Bank of Canada (RY), Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) and the Canadian National Railway (CNI).

Please note, Phillip Capital Only has access to stocks listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Canadian Venture Exchange. For any stocks listed on the TSX or CVE with a market capitalization under $80 million, please contact us before proceeding.
