Stock Market Overview

The Chinese stock market operates with a dual share system whereby, A class shares are only available to domestic investors whilst, international investors can purchase B-Shares offered on either the Shanghai or Shenzhen stock exchanges. They are eligible for foreign investment provided the investment account is in foreign currencies (Shanghai B-shares trade in U.S. dollars, while Shenzhen B-shares trade in Hong Kong dollars). They are less-known to the public as they are only available to foreign investors and they are typically held by mutual funds or exchange-traded funds.

Some most well-known listed stocks are Inner Mongolia Eerduosi Resources (900936), Lao Feng Xiang (900905), Shanghai Huayi Group (900909), CSG Holding (200012) and China Fangda Group (200055).
